Granite State Independent Living is committed to assisting people with disabilities along the road to economic independence by providing a wide range of employment services.

If you are seeking employment, Granite State Independent Living provides the following integrated employment and independent living services to help you achieve your goal:

Employment Services – Vocational Rehabilitation: By working with both Granite State Independent Living's Employ­ment Services staff and the N.H. Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, you can identify your employment goals, develop skills for finding a job, conduct a job search and make a smooth tran­si­tion into the workforce. Work Incentives Planning and Assistance: Granite State Independent Living Community Work Incentives Coordinators (CWIC) can help you navigate the maze of benefit programs available. They provide valuable assistance in understanding and planning for the impact earned wages may have on your benefits. More information is available at

Medicaid for Employed Adults with Disabilities Program (MEAD): If you are disabled and employed, you may be eligible for the Medicaid for Employed Adults with Disabilities (MEAD) program. MEAD is a Medicaid coverage group that allows adults with disabilities to work to their fullest poten­tial, save money and still qualify for Medicaid. Contact a Granite State Independent Living CWIC at 800-826-3700 to help you determine if you are eligible for this program, or visit our website for more details.

Projects with Industry (PWI) School to Work program: Young people with disabilities who are in high school or have graduated and are under 21 can gain valuable training and guidance in obtaining career-focused work through this federally-funded program. For more information, call 624-0600.

Youth Services: Through skills training programs, activities and peer support groups, young people can set and begin achiev­ing their education goals and future career plans. For more infor­mation, visit our website or call 800-826-3700.

Area Agency Programs: Individuals with developmental disabilities who are currently working with an area agency may be eligible
for support in finding and maintaining employment, participating in volunteer opportunities, and accessing their communities through Granite State Independent Living's Employ­ment Services Department. You must be referred to Granite State Independent Living by the area agency to ensure that funding is available for services. We are currently working with the following area agencies:

  • Community Bridges, Concord

  • Moore Center, Manchester

  • United Developmental Services, Lebanon

Bancroft Staffing Services: If you have the skills to conduct a job search independently, contact Bancroft Staffing Services (BSS) at 624-0600 or visit their website. BSS is a subsidiary of GSIL that provides place­ment services for permanent, long-term and short-term job oppor­tuni­ties for qualified individuals with and without disabilities.
