Share Your Story
Personal stories are among the most powerful tools we have to get our message out. Your personal stories show clearly how public policy and issues affects your life; it enlightens lawmakers, raises awareness in your community and tells people about the work we do.
Your experience matters.
When you share your stories with us, you will speak directly to the press, policymakers and the general public. Your stories will raise public awareness, build a solid case for change, work to improve policy at a local and national level and applaud the good work local agencies do. Your stories will be the foundation upon which change happens.
We respect the privacy of every consumer who tells us their story and always ask permission before sharing it with anyone.
FAQ
What is a Story Bank? A Story Bank uses personal stories to tell a story and illustrate a point. Organizations gather testimonials, consumer stories (oral and/ or video), and photos and organize them by subject in a Story Bank.
How is it used? Consumer’s stories may be used in reports we publish, grants we write, in advocacy efforts and provided to journalists. When a personal story is used, the topic or issue now has a human face and this makes it easier for people to relate too.
