Samuel Habib

Samuel recently won an Emmy Award for the New York Times documentary short “My Disability Roadmap” which he co-directed with his father, Dan Habib. Samuel uses a wheelchair for mobility and a communication device, along with his voice, to communicate. In his Emmy speech he said, “I want other young adults with disabilities to have the same opportunities that I have had for healthcare, inclusive education, college, assistive technology, making friends, and independent living.”

Samuel currently attends college and the father and son team are hard at work again on their next film “The Ride Ahead,” a feature-length version of “My Disability Roadmap.” With this film, Samuel says, “I hope that the millions of young adults with disabilities will feel more seen, and find their own mentors.”
