GSIL’s “Live Life to its Fullest” Workshop Series
Finding community and building the skills to thrive can make all the difference in living independently and confidently. This summer, the NH Disability and Health Program (DHP) is partnering with Granite State Independent Living to offer a powerful opportunity for adults with disabilities to do just that through their free 10-session workshop series, “Live Life to its Fullest.”
What Makes This Program Special
The workshop goes beyond typical programming by addressing the whole person. Over five weeks, participants will dive into practical topics that matter most for independent living: overcoming obstacles, self-advocacy, healthy eating habits, meaningful goal setting, and staying physically active.
These aren’t just lectures, they’re interactive sessions designed to build real skills you can use every day. This workshop may also help you choose and work on a personal goal, experience peer support, create more possibilities in your life, and make improvements to your health and wellness.
Building Community While Building Skills
One of the most valuable aspects of this program is the peer connections it fosters. Participants will build supportive relationships with others who understand their experiences and challenges. There’s something powerful about learning alongside people who “get it.” It creates an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing, learning, and growing together.
The Details
The workshop runs twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 2:30 PM) from July 8th through August 7th at GSIL’s Concord location (21 Chenell Drive). Companions are welcome to attend, making this an inclusive experience for those who benefit from additional support.
Each participant will work toward setting and achieving a personal health goal, with guidance and encouragement from both facilitators and fellow participants. By the end of the series, attendees will have practical tools for advocacy, wellness, and personal growth, plus a network of new connections.
This class is taught using facilitated discussions, fun activities, informative health videos, and useful information. Living Well in the Community (LWIC) participants must be 18 years or older, a New Hampshire resident, and identify as a person with a disability.
